Have you ever heard of stop motion? Well if you have, you probably know that it is a series of pictures that make up a movie, and they can turn out pretty amazing if you do it right. So here are some tips to get you going.
Tip #1 patience
The most important thing is to have patience. Stop motion can take a long time. For example, one second in stop motion could be anywhere from 15-24 FPS (Frames Per Second). So always remember to take your time.
Tip #2 the right app or software
For stop motion, you can use pretty much any camera that can take a picture. I use an iPhone and that works great, it also avoids having to upload it to software and that’s a lot more work. On the iPhone, the apps I recommend are imotion and stop motion studio
Tip #3 proper lighting
You need a lot of light in the Lego stop motion! I think 2-4 lights are perfect. And if you don’t have lights, you could even use desktop lamps! The good thing about desktop lamps is that there bendable. So you can get the perfect light for your scene. There are also box lights which work super great but they’re a little more expensive.

Tip #5 Tape down your Lego baseplate
when you move your character in Lego stop motion it makes the baseplate shake and that makes an earthquake effect. If you want to prevent that here’s all you have to do, tape your baseplate down on every corner, or you can use sticky tack or clay. But tape is probably a more comen household item.
